Wade Meyers

Picture
Wade Meyers teaches music privately in Howard County, performs as a soloist and collaborator locally and abroad, and accompanies the performing arts programs at Sudbrook Magnet Middle School in Baltimore County.
Mr. Meyers is a founding member of the new music ensemble Balance Campaign, for which he plays piano and organ. At the conclusion of their 2017-18 concert season, they began an ongoing residency at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where they give concerts, student composer workshops, and readings of student compositions.
Wade is also the Minister of Music for St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockville, Maryland, where he directs the children’s choir, adult choir, handbell choir, and cantor program; improvises and composes new music for the service, and leads music from the piano and organ.
Originally a trombonist and self-taught pianist, Wade Meyers began piano lessons at the age of 16 before going to Stetson University to receive a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance degree with Steinway Artist Michael Rickman. He also studied organ and harpsichord with Boyd Jones, improvisation with Harold Blanchard, and composition with Manuel de Murga in his time there. He then attended George Mason University to study piano and chamber music with Anna Balakerskaia and graduate with a Master of Music in Piano Performance degree. Wade has been with Bass Works since 2015.
