Wade Meyers specializes in Classical music and also has substantial experience in playing for Musical Theater and Liturgy.
In Classical music, Wade has performed as a solo pianist and collaborator across North America for the past decade, including recitals with faculty members of the Peabody Conservatory and the National Symphony Orchestra.
In Musical Theater, Wade Meyers first began as an emergency substitute pianist for "The Fantasticks," learning the show a few hours before the performance, and was subsequently invited to return. The next two months involved the same situation with Sondheim's "Assassins," and Herbert's "Babes in Toyland." Musicals involved performing on acoustic pianos, digital pianos, and synthesizers. Later musical performances include "Hairspray," "Little Shop of Horrors," and "Legally Blonde," in addition to accompanying Musical Theater and Classical category winners at NATS.
In Liturgical music, Mr. Meyers is currently the music director for St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockville where he directs the adult choir, children's choir, and handbell choir in addition to serving as cantor and leading music from the piano and organ. Previously, he spent just under two years assisting the music ministry of Holy Trinity Lutheran in Laurel by playing for services, ringing and conducting handbells, and accompanying the choir. He also spent a few years as the substitute pianist for several churches, as well as a year as the pianist for First Baptist of DeLeon Springs.
