Native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, bassist, arranger, and composer Andrés Martín has performed with orchestras. chamber ensembles and as a soloist in Argentina, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Uruguay. Chile, Brazil, Mexico, England, Germany, Italy, Spain, Dennmark and United States. Since his arrival in Tijuana (Mexico), Andrés has been immersed in teaching as well as performing as a soloist and chamber musician.
He is the former principal bass of “Orquesta de Baja California” (2002-2023) and founder-director of Contrabajos de Baja California International bass festival (2003-2019)
On the side of his work as a soloist and chamber musician, Andrés has a full time schedule as a composer, writing hours of new works every year, performed and commissioned by world renowned soloists, chamber ensambles and orchestras around the world.
During 2024 he continues to pursuit a very busy schedule as a chamber musician, soloist, teacher and composer, with a very active schedule in Mexico and a big amount of travel in US, Europe and South America. His music continues to be performed, programmed, and premiered in all 5 continents.
Andrés has a signature solo double bass he designed for Eastman Strings reaching the hands of players all around the world. He is also a D’addario artist.
