Frequently Asked Questions

Can out of state students attend Bass Works?

Yes! Secondary division attendees are able to stay in the Peabody Dorms for the week for an additional room and board charge.
Students at Bass Works have represented over 12 states along with the District of Columbia and the Bahamas!

I live out of state and cannot afford to fly with my bass.  What options are there for me?

Attendees of either program can take advantage of our bass rental program to save the hassle of traveling a long distance with their bass.  Plywood, hybrid, and fully carved basses are available to rent in multiple sizes.  If you have questions about our rental program, send us as email!

Do I have to stay on campus?

No! Secondary division students may choose to commute to and from Peabody every day. Elementary division participants may not stay on campus.
If you'd like to be a commuter, be sure to select that option at registration.

What items are provided in the dorms?

Dorm rooms come equipped with linens for the week. This includes twin sheets, a blanket, pillows and towels.  Extra linens are available upon request. Toiletries are not provided.

We live out of state and are bringing the whole family for the week of camp. Can you recommend any hotels in the area?

Yes! We have a list of hotel recommendations available upon request.

Do I have to take private lessons to attend Bass Works?

No. Bass players of any age and ability level are welcome at our program. We do however, require at least one year of experience as we do not offer beginning classes.

I'm a little nervous about sending in my audition video.  Does this affect my acceptance?

No!  While the video or audio submission is required, it is merely for placement purposes and does not affect acceptance into the program.
