BASS WORKS @ HOME 
July 18th-25th 2021

Here is what BASS WORKS @ HOME will look like. 

Bass Works @ Home will take place during the week of July 18th-25th, 2021.  Students will have the opportunity to take part in the following:
  • Virtual Private Lessons - Each student will receive three one-on-one private lessons with a single “studio” teacher. *Click here to learn more about our world class faculty*
  • Virtual Masterclasses - Each student will have the opportunity to perform in or participate as an audience member in multiple masterclasses.
  • Virtual Small Group Technique Classes - Each student will participate in a wide variety of technique classes.
  • Virtual Elective Classes - Students may sign up for special classes covering a wide variety of topics.
  • Virtual Music Theory Classes - Students will be placed in level-based theory classes determined by a pre-camp assessment.
  • Virtual Student Recitals - We will be holding multiple student recitals with the option to perform live or submit a pre-recorded performance. 
  • Daily Live Streamed Evening Programs - These may include staff recitals, panel discussions, and more.
  • Virtual Social Meetings with Other Campers - Staff monitored social meetings will allow students to socialize with each other outside of classes.
  • Supervised Practice Sessions - Daily scheduled practice time with the assistance of our staff and interns.
  • Social Activities - Supervised meal times and games!
 
Here is everything you need to know: 
CHANGES AND CAMP OPTIONS
You may choose from the following packages: 
  • Performance Package $450 - This package includes three one-on-one private studio lessons, participation in masterclasses, technique classes, electives classes, theory classes, the option to participate in student recitals, and attendance in all social and evening events. Classes will be arranged by experience and ability based on application video submissions. 
  •  Social Distance Chamber Package $550 - For an added fee, students receive all of the above plus the ability to participate in the social distance chamber program.  Students will be placed into small groups,  receive their music ahead of time, virtually meet as a group with their coach twice to go over the music, and have a recording submission deadline of the first official day of camp.   Our tech staff will edit individual submissions together to create an asynchronous video performance. More information will be given upon registration for this program. 
  • Observation Package $75 - For a small fee, participants will have access to virtually attend ALL group classes, masterclasses, and performances as an audience member only. 
  • Extra Lessons - Students who selected the “Performance Package ”    will have the option to add additional lessons with a variety of faculty members for $40 per lesson. Additional lessons will be requested and scheduled at a later date. 
  • All Programs are Open to Students of Any Age and Ability!


ONLINE POLICIES
  • Supervision - All zoom video chats will be monitored by staff. All students are expected to behave in a respectful and appropriate manner. There will be no tolerance for profanity, or other inappropriate behavior. Infringements could result in dismissal from the program. 
  • Sharing Links - In order to maintain the privacy of the students and faculty and the integrity of the audit package, Zoom links may not be shared with those not registered for the program.  You may of course invite family members to watch publicly streamed recitals! Infringements could result in dismissal from the program. 
  • Privacy Policies - Every precaution will be taken to ensure student privacy.  Every Zoom meeting will be password protected and all participants will be required to use their real names.  Anyone not in compliance will be removed from the meeting.   

TECHNOLOGY LOGISTICS
  • Zoom - All virtual classes, lessons, and many recitals will be held as Zoom meetings.
  • Teacher Zone - We will be using the “Teacher Zone” online platform to house all schedules, zoom links, announcements, and communication.  Every parent, student, and staff member will have their own login for this one-stop shop for all Bass Works @ Home information. With one click, students and parents can see their personalized schedule, communicate with teachers, and find all of their Zoom links in one place!
  • YouTube and Facebook Live - Evening programs and recitals will be live streamed on YouTube and/or Facebook live.  These public links may be shared with friends and family who wish to attend performances.
  • Tech Support - Prior to the start of camp, every student will fill out a technology survey (this will be sent at a later date) and do a “tech check” with one of our staff members to ensure they are well set up for a successful camp. Staff members will also be available during the week to troubleshoot tech issues, answer questions, and log incidents should they occur. 


QUESTIONS ANSWERED
  • Do I need a placement video? YES! While your video has no bearing on your admittance into camp it is an important tool we use to place you in appropriate groups to maximize your camp experience!
  • I’m unsure about the technology side of things.  Help! Send our team a message as soon as possible and we can ensure you have the best set up possible for camp! We will have staff available prior to and during the week of camp to assist with tech set up and issues.
  • What time zone is Bass Works @ Home?  Our schedule will align with the current time of Baltimore, MD (EDT.)  However, we will do whatever we can to accommodate those joining us from other time zones.  Please fill out the survey to let us know what times are best for you!
  • wish to withdraw from the program entirely will receive all payments back minus the initial non-refundable $50 deposit.
